I'm really disappointed that Ms. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice does not want to run for president. However, I think she's way ahead of me, and she probably figures that America isn't ready for a black woman president. I mean...we haven't had a black president, yet. We haven't had a woman president, yet. If Ms. Rice, a black woman, becomes president then we would be skipping a few steps ahead of ourselves. To me and a lot of people that's a great great thing. But how does "most" American feel? What do you think?

Sure, why not?

As long as she is not a socialist.

Condi is not running because she does not want to go through what the liberals, socialists and democrats would do to her, it would be evil and unbearable, and I think she is right in her choice, and I think it is too bad because she is a brilliant person with a finely honed intellect.

Not Condoleezza! Really with todays attitudes her life would be endanger if she was elected, which she won't be. The GOP is going down, and the Dems likly have a winner this next election, maybe Hillary? I hope not as hse already ran the country for 8 years

I would be ok with it but it goes against the grain of the American version of Christianity. Women in America will never be treated as equals as long as we embrace the superstitions set forth by our brand of Christianity.

The redneck southerner's are not able to comprehend or respect women enough to go for this at all.

Look at our last two presidents! If they don't talk like hillbillies, America ain't buyin'!

America is ready for any President with integrity and ability. Whether the people are able to determine who has integrity and ability is a different matter.

I would and will vote for the most qualified candidate. I believe that it has been at least 16 years since we have had a president I consider to be both competent and honorable.

The following candidates come to mind:

Condeleeza Rice (But to closely associated with the imbecillic policies of the Bush Administration.)
Colin Powel (Ditto)
Barack ?? (I WILL learn his name.)
Richardson (The Hispanic governor of New Mexico)

Just curious...But rice will make it if she stands for it because she is doing well.

Colin Powel would have even been better for a black president. Because he is not as close to bush as expected.

Unfortunately most white americans will not like the idea of a black president. (The US, land of hate!)

The president will always be a white male, until the demise of the United States.

Sadly I don't think we will see a women president in our life times.
