I just won a talent contest through our local fair with the song "Jesus take the wheel" Carrie Underwood. I am 35 yrs old and do this for the fun of it because I love to sing. I want to sing something different for the state competition. Anyone have any suggestions on something that will knock peoples socks off. I usually sing country songs-but, would love to learn a good R & B like from Alica Keys or something-

In the past few months, I have seen countless girls wearing various articles of clothing with the word "Pink" plastered somewhere thereupon. T-shirts, sweatpants, short shorts, I even saw a girl whose shirt said, "I live for Pink".

Could someone please explain this to me? My theories are that this is either a brand name that I've never heard of, some sort of pro-woman statement, a sexual euphemism (a la Jason Mraz's "Geek in the Pink"), or just an odd fad centering around the colour implied by "Pink". I'm sure there's someone out there who has more of a clue than I do, so please let me know.

This will sound really bad to most people but I do not like my dad. Sometimes I fantasize about him dying in a car accident. My parents adopted me when I was 3 days old. I didnt find out until I was 10. Now I am 5 inches taller than them. I love my mom and we get along great. My dad is really smart. He isnt ugly, but he's my calculus teacher in high school. Everyone likes him because he keeps peoples attention in class. He makes it interesting. He's short and he looks just like Nellie Olson's husband Percival on little house on the prairie! Except his hair is cut short and he's 47. I say mean things to him all the time, like I hate him and wish he was dead. Then he ignores me for days and treats me like I am invisible in class. I like it when he ignores me in class. It takes the spotlight off me being his daughter. He is really a good father and he loves me. So why can't I like him back? Why do I have a complex from being associated with him? And how do I get rid of it?

I have two servers at a grocery store. P(server 1) is 0.4. P(server 2) is 0.6. P(time is less than 5 min | server 1) is 1. P(time is less than 5 min | server 2) is 4/9. What is P(server 1 | time is less than 5 min)? Would it be 1/(1+ 4/9) or do the weightings from before come into play?

Can someone explain how the following works please:

1) = 2 + 3 + 3 root 5 - root 5
= 5 + 2 root 5 (I'm not sure where 5 + 2 comes from, I
would've thought it'd be 5 + 3)

2) = 4 + 2 root 3 + 2 root 3 +3
= 7 + 4 root 3 (I know 4 + 3 = 7 and 2 + 2 = 4 but why is it
added in this way?)

3) = root 2 x root 2 + root 2 x 2 root 3 x root 2 + root 3 x 2 root 3
= 2 + 2 root 6 + root 6 + 2 x 3
= 8 + 3 root 6 (A lot of roots sorry, but very confused!)

4) = 2 x 2 - 2 x root 3 + root 3 x 2 - root 3 x root 3
= 4 - 2 root 3 + 2 root 3 - 3
= 1

Any help please would be very greatly appreciated!! :o)

Brief recap: plague in thebes, oedipus finds out he killed dad unawares, and is sleeping with mum (also unaware). Mum hangs herself, and oedipus gouges out his eyes. The people of thebes, pissed off, throw oedipus out of town. plague goes away, thebans rejoice. THE END.

Now, will anyone tell me what the hell was the lesson of the story? oedipus wasn't a bad bloke. why'd they treat him like crap? I'm so angry with sophocles, and the teachers who made me read it.

I tried breaking up this morning, and my cheating boyfriend doesnt seem to get it! He is saying that he never cheated, and that we'll just move away in order to prove that he's not attached to anyone but me--anywhere I want to go!

it definitely wasn't freedom of choice, democracy, free speach, at fourteen shillings (70p) a week, these people fought and died, for less than the price of half a pint of beer.
So tell me what they did die for.....
