Dispite my many firewalls and virus protection, my computer has recieved may MAL-viruses, to the point my server virus protection isnt working propertly, I'm going to have to restore the whole thing, loosing lots of stuff I'v put on here in the past two years. My question is, can I also add the memory back to it by doing this?

I have windows xp installed on the kids computer. I have no clue how it has been used the last few months. Now when you log on under any name it works for a few minutes and then nothing at all works. I cant even turn the computer off unless I unplug it. I have done virus scans and adware scans but nothing has helped. Everything works perfect in safe mode. What could be wrong and how do I fix this?
