If you restore it before you completely remove the infection you may be restoring the infection as well. Try some of these programs to clean the system.

Define Restore! If you mean you are going to use Microsoft Restore Point, then it will not solve your problem. You won't lose any data but you won't get completely rid of the malware. What it does is restore your Registry files back to the way they were. Essentially, this puts your OS back to the way it was, but most malware will reinstall itself. If you are talking about using your Restore Disk from the manufacturer, you must first back up all your data. Running the Restore Disk will return your computer to the state the factory shipped it. Any software you have installed or tweaks you have made will be lost. All that will have to be redone. Don't know what you're talking about by adding the memory back. Memory is RAM chips, physical.

I could clean up that whole server and remove ANY Virus or Spyware on that server for around $20 if you'd like. Thats nothing like geeksquad or anyone else would charge but at least you wouldn't have to go through the mess of reformatting your computer and possibly losing information.

I manage a support department that does Virus removal and take escalations as well so I have been doing this stuff for awhile. Viruses can take up quite a bit of memory on the computer as well and can cause a computer to slow down a lot.

If you have any questions or anything please feel free to email me at leaguepass@yahoo.com

No, if you or the virus have deleted any files even after the restore point, they cannot be restored. That's why it is important to use a backing program to back your data on DVDs, CDs and HDDs. Symantec Norton Ghost is a good one. It can be downloaded from http://www.symantec.com

Back-up all the files that you can, because they will be lost. All your programs will be lost and have to be reinstalled. The computer will restored to it's basic form like it just came from the factory.

Whatever is in memory is lost every time you turn your machine off. A restore has nothing to do with your memory.
