I got a call from an art teaching program to come and teach drawing to 6th graders. For some reason I am feeling really nervous, and afraid what the kids (11-12yrs old) will think of me (I know that's sad). I'm 24 and I have this fear of speaking in a large crowd, also I don't really have a big vocabulary. I'm fit for the skill as an artist but I don't believe I'm fit to teach. Has anyone taugh art to elementary students and how did it go? The only teaching experience I have is sunday school with Pre-K-1st grade...but has nothing to do with art of course.

I am very interesting in learning more about Buddhism. I have read many books on the subject and I don't know where to go from here. How would I learn more about the practises, especially meditation? There are no temples close by and those that I do know of I'm not sure what type of Buddhism they offer. Is there a lot of difference between the different types? Which have you found more helpful and why?

I've gone to school with him in 4th and 5th grade. He's in my Geography class and we both like some of the same things, like golf and... sports. I'm a girly girl, but not too much! I'm pretty good looking and we are about the same height. I REALLY like him, I have since the first day of fourth grade. All summer he's been on my mind. I think he might like me, actually... he said. "Hi, Kendall!" excitedly when he walked by me in the hall the other day. I just got a new receiver. I have my DVD connected with S - Video cable for the video, and digital for the sound. My TiVo and TV/Cable are connected with analog (RCA? I don't know the proper term, I guess) for sound and S - Video for video. When I go from DVD to TV, I have to turn the volume way up to hear? Is this a connection thing or a receiver thing?

I hate it when someone says "serious answers only" at the bottom of their questions. So, I won't say that, but I do really want to know.

I sometimes wish I could do something but know it's out of my reach.
But then there are times when something seems so far but I want it so much that I make it possible.
EG: I applied for a job with the civil service. I never thought I'd get past the initial application stage but I did.
Then I passed on the filtering process.
So when I finally got to do the exams and passed with flying colours I was ecstatic! And even more so because there were 30 people in that room and only 2 of us passed!
So my wish to be a civil servant was fulfilled. But then I got ill and was unable to pursue the job. So my wish was taken away.
But I still got it in a way, so it counts right?

Uncle A wants to make a rather large party with fifty-sixty ppl (inlaws, friends, other relatives etc) for my grandfathers bday (70). Now, with only the children+grandchildren, its 20 people. The other 30-40 people are mostly people that aren't even friendly or know my grandfather and the other three children. Some of them my grandfather dislikes greatly. Even though thats what Uncle A wants to do and he doesn't want to change it. The four children (of my g-father) would split the cost, but he doesn't want to listen to any suggestions and wants to invite all these "strangers". The price would end up being $100 a head, which is rather pricy, and my family and my other uncle's family would have to make travel expenses to go to a party with people we don't know that we're paying for... So we're not going but Uncle A is angry I believe because we don't want anything to do with that. He was also a real jerk on the phone.
