I was born to a Hindu father (Pakistani) and Catholic mother. I was brought up with touches of both cultures but have not completed any significant rituals in either faith - no naamkaran in Hinduism or baptism in Christianity - in order to keep an equal balance between them until I was of age to make an informed decision concerning my spirituality. Or so I was told.

In any case, two years ago my father died and I was left with my mother who fell into a deep depression. It was during that time which I began to think more seriously concerning faith. It was through that experience as well as many other shaping events that I found my heart in Hinduism where I feel it has been all my life.

So I began living as a full Hindu. However, I want to go on pilgrimage in India sometime in the near future but fear not being able to enter Hindu-only establishments because of my upbringing and lack of formalities. I question whether or not I can even call myself Hindu. What should I do?

I have frequent knee pain,mainly in my right knee only. I am only 25 and my knee cracks so loud when I bend it or go up the stairs. I was quite active back in High School (dance and sports) but never had a knee injury. I am not nearly as active now (I go to the gym a few times a week...basic cardio and lifting) and have not had anything happen that would cause injury or an incident to my knee. The pain is like a bad aching and hurts pretty bad. I currently don't have insurance as I just finished college and my "real job" with benefits doesn't start until the middle of September. Lately it has been really bad so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the cause or treatments! Thanks:)

I am a strong person. Recently some things have happened that I can't control and some other personal things, and I have hurt and lost a very close friend. I have no one to turn to. I don't remember ever hurting this bad and I don't want to endure this anymore. Before you suggest the typical respnses such as things will get better and pass, they won't, they can't. my last menstural cycle was on 13 july (start date ) , i was feeling that my menstural cycle will start from morning of 13 aug i did intercourse on evening of 13 aug since then im feeling but by menstural cycle is not starting yet, what can be the reason ? is it can be the pregnancy ? do ineed to take any pills so that my periods will start or it will start by own ? i m worried whether i will be getting pregnent ? pls suggest solution is there any medicine available in india wich i can easily get it from medical store ?

Fortunately I think the pendulum is swinging back... I mean slowly but surely. Do you think Roe vs. Wade will ever be overturned nationally or do you think it will just happen state by state? And how long until you think infanticide will be illegal nationwide again? 2015? 2050? 2100? I'm afraid it'll still stick around for a few centuries, I mean if slavery was legal for that long, why wouldn't this be?

I work for a credit card company and people call in yelling and cursing, then asking for help. Why do people do this when that just makes you not want to help them at all?? This is a question and also a suggestion that if you ever need help with a company that can control your APR or late fees or anything that will cost you money you may want to be nice to them.

My life very messed up right now, I'm doing so bad in school, i think i flunked a year, i go to sleep with fear, concern with problems, my mom hates me cause im doing so bad in school, i'm lazy but i work when i have to, i suck at math, i rude, my dad is angry at me for being lazy, i go to church and i pray to GOD to get my life on the right track, i hate being lazy, i dont think college will even be an option for me, i get picked on alot, i know there are people out that have it a million times worse, but will GOD help me? will he get through these stressful times? will he get my life straightened out? will he help me become a hard worker? will he have mercy on me and arrange my life? i fear that there are more hardships up ahead,i feel that i still have to suffer a little bit more *sigh*.

I would like to research a divorce decree and some financial records before I consider getting married again. I would like to be private about it and see if my significant others x has claim to his retirement etc. I also would like to know the exact amount of his debt before I get in over my head. I was screwed over once and will not do that again. Call me paranoid, but better safe than sorry. Is it possible to see a copy of his divorce and financial records without telling him?

granted the poetry i post on here is literally thrown together just for shock value, it seems to me like no one can grasp any absract concepts. it's like if you dont come flat out and say something no one gets it. has anyone ever heard of salvador dali? surrealism? abstraction? these are all age old techniques but it seems like these paraquats cant put together random imagery in a manner that would invoke the intention of the artist. if i string a bunch of random thoughts together then i am trying to stirr up a wave of emotions radther than just say something plain and simple. what happened to thinking outside the box? am i the only one who's mind works like a stream on consciousness where my heavily emotional thoughts come in semi-related images and experiences that dont connect together directly outside of the emotion involved? have you ever almost died? were the thoughts going through your mind at the time rational and linear? why are art and emotion so repressed in our society?
