The doctrine which the Mormon leaders teach concerning blacks was clearly set forth in a letter written by the First Presidency in 1947: "From the days of the Prophet Joseph even until now, it has been the doctrine of the Church, never questioned by any of the Church leaders, that the Negroes are not entitled to the full blessings of the Gospel." (Letter from the First Presidency of the Mormon Church, July 17, 1947, as cited in Mormonism and the *****, by John J. Stewart, 1960, pages 46-47)

Bruce R. McConkie, who later served as an Apostle in the church, made this statement in 1958:

"Negroes in this life are denied the priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty.... The gospel message of salvation is not carried affirmatively to them...

And is the movie going public tired of the same formula crap? Are they turning to reality TV not because its good but simply because it's less predictable than your "correctly" written and produced movie? We spend so much time on A and B stories, character arcs, all is lost moments and the hero's journey so that we can emotionally connect with viewers.

But in Miami Vice there is none of that. Well, there's a B story, but no character arcs or many other of the "correct" moments of a movie. Instead, you get a lot of spectacle, and bad assed people doing bad assed things.

I saw this movie with a group, and all of us agreed that is was an unusual movie, but engaging none the less. At first I thought it was a little simplistic. Now I am wondering if it is genius.

I'm from the caribbean. I saw on the news a 51yr old grandma was charged with the murder of her grandchildren, twins aged 9mths. She left them in the care of a 6yr old girl who decided 2 bathe them and they drowned. The child didn't even know they were dead. she dried them off and put them 2 bed thinking they were sleeping. Has any1 out there heard of anything more disturbing?

Here on yahoo answers in the past I have read people who say that they have a "battle-cry" for Jesus and that they wanted to have a spiritual warfare in America, and this involved an agenda of preventing gay marriage, a pro-life agenda, bringing God back into the schools, etc. The conservative agenda.

So in the interest of building a database here on yahoo answers of questions and answers, I an agnostic not trying to convert anyone to my religion, ask this question of those reading it:

Does the religious right hear the "battle-cry" of those who wish to use the words of Jesus from the Bible for liberal positions, like helping the poor, or feeding the hungry, or a pro-choice agenda, and there are christian churches in America that marry people of the same gender, and they want prayer in school to be a private matter.

Does the religious right hear the battle cry of the religious left in America?

While cleaning my bathroom I found a perscription for Tazodone in the cupboard. It had my roommates name on it and I put it back. She and I are usually tight, but she didn't say anything about this medication before and we tell each other everything!!! So I'm wondering what this is and what what it's used for.
