While cleaning my bathroom I found a perscription for Tazodone in the cupboard. It had my roommates name on it and I put it back. She and I are usually tight, but she didn't say anything about this medication before and we tell each other everything!!! So I'm wondering what this is and what what it's used for. She said it's no big deal but if there is a way for me to help I would.

It is a sleep aid. Lot's of meds have dual and multiple reasons for being prescribed. I wouldn't jump to conclusions and assume something based on what you may think. There are about 4 common conditions where a doctor would prescribe it- many times doctors prescribe it- just thinking that it may be of help for other conditions besides the intended use.

This is absolutely none of your business, and you are releasing confidential health information. If she wants to tell you what it is for, that is her prerogative and her business. You should not have been snooping and reading her pill bottles. If I were her, I would go after you for releasing confidential medical information over the internet about her. Fool.

It is a anti-psychotic drug used to treat anxiety, bi-polar and other mental illnesses. If she has always acted okay to you the she always will. Mental illness is a disease just like diabetes. Just be her friend.

Trazadone is a high-powered sleeping pill. If she didn't tell you about it, it's probably just very personal to her. Don't freak out just because she doesn't tell you about it.
