The American government, at all levels, is far too large. It has outgrown any vision the founding fathers originally intended, and it tries to control every miniscule aspect of every individual's lives, including those lives of citizens of other countries. Can't individuals make their own choices, including their own mistakes? Does government have a role in everything, with no restrictions at all, such as we have today, or should government be limited to just a few basic functions: a court system, road construction, printing of value-backed currency, defense of the country (not offense), foreign diplomacy, and a few other essential but small tasks, such as our well-educated founding fathers intended? How can we reduce government back to, perhaps, only 5% of its present size?
