Interestingly, the Buddhists have made a similar argument, and said that believing in karma and rebirth brings tangible rewards now even if they are not ultimately valid.

The idea of the effect on the now is what seems to elude Pascal... and not surprisingly, as his standpoint is apologetic. The problem with wagering on God's existence is that you may then find yourself bound to belief systems whose tenets have caused war and strife as long as mankind's been around. What god you wager on carries some weight, as well.

But if you wager on no God, you are placing faith in reason and freeing yourself of the tenets of organized religion. You are also furthering good by not contributing to mindless and exclusive clubs.

In addition, a benevolent god would judge a person by merit, not belief. Commanding faith and rewarding it, but burning non-believers... that's a strange god, and only one that humans could cook up.

ive been reading alot latley about the gas prices and people starting us cooking oil as gas...and its working. what were to actually happen if i were to try this on my car. I'm a student so im always broke and saving money from gas would really help. I have a 99 chevy blazer if i tried it would my car work or brake down. and is there a difference if you use new oil or does it have to be used?

I have found a glue that is great for gluing embellishments, like flowers onto handbags and would like to glue grosgrain ribbon on as well. Do ribbons need to be stitched on? or is gluing a proper production procedure? I am trying to do this myself to save money rather than have a factory or sewer do it. It needs to be REALLY strong and not fall off because I'd like to sell them. I want them to look like the ribbon bags at www.kathyfagan.com. Can I glue? Help.

Governments take the money from citizens (and others) through force - you don't pay you go to jail. So where from does this absurd notion of tax-payer rights come? We pay on demand. He is 6 going on 7 and he is so skinny . He is tall and weighs 42pounds, you can see all of his ribs and his thighs are not much bigger than his calfs. He eats but not alot at a time and he says he is hungry and will eat alittle then a couple of hours later he is hungry again.
