For a person who loves travel writing and books written by Mary Kingsley, Joseph Conrad, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Bruce Chatwin, what kind of books would you recommend from Africa or from the Arabic world? Thank you in advance!

when with all the scientific and medical technology today, the average life expectancy of a man or woman (living in the U.S.) is only to the mid- to late-seventies? (Not being biased, it's just that this is a statistic that I am most familiar with.)

I know that people like Abraham were exceptional in many ways - I am not denying that - so is living so long yet another exception? I mean, man, Abraham only lived to be 175 years old. (Or was he 205 years old?)

And then there's Methuselah, believed to be oldest person at 969 years of age (Gensis 5:27). And he fathered Lamech (father of Noah) when he was 187 years old. What did he do that God allowed him to live so long?

In the modern world, the oldest person died at 122 years of age (Jeanne Calment as noted in the Guiness Book of World Records). (And no, I'm not comparing the authority of these two books.)

Were the lengths of years marked differently?

What secret did these men have that allowed them to live so long?

To say God’s nature is love and he wanted to share his love with us doesn’t help for two reasons, 1) Most of us will end up in hell, which means he knowingly created heaven for the minority on the screams of billions of people who end up in hell; 2) If life was already perfect for God, then God did not need to share any more love with anyone else. Why break this purported perfect harmony for the pain of dealing with us and the pain of those who end up in hell?

I do! i don't really care if they wear make-up. unless it is more than i have on. cuz then me and him have problems. LOL. And it doesn't bother me if his pants are too tight. cuz maybe thats just the way he likes to wear them. unless they just look bad on him or they are way too tight. And if he paints his nails black i don't care cuz i do too! i don't mined him painting his nails black as long as he doesn't paint them any other color. they can only be black cuz i think it is like a boy and girl color.
