I guess 5-10mins maybe....I never really set a time on it. I just put salt and a little vinegar in the water then let the eggs boil till they crack. I do this to make sure they are done, b/c I don't want anything uncooked!!!

Well I get pretty great ones--fully cooked but not cooked until they turn green--using this method. Put the egg or eggs in a pot and cover with cold water. You want the water to be about 1 inch over them! Bring to a hard boil and boil for one minute. Cover the pot with a lid/plate and turn off the heat. Ten minutes later the egg(s) are fully cooked and ready to be cooled off in some cold water.

3 minutes is for a "soft boiled" egg. And then you put it in an egg cup, slice the top off with a knife, and eat it . . . yummy.
You want a hard boiled egg, you better boil it longer. Hard boiled for egg salad, etc.

Three minutes if you want it soft. Longer if you want it hard. I cook 10 minutes to get a hard boil egg. That's the way I like my egg. This way I can make an EEG sandwich with salad dressing. Or you can slice them up in potato salad..

Add salt to the water to increase the boiling point of the water. The egg will cook faster, because the temperature of the water increases also.

20 minutes from the time it starts to boil. Slightly longer at high altitude.
