having to listen to that twangy crap is like torture for me.
I'd do anything to get away from it!

Whoever hates country music must also hate themselves. The stories told in the lyrics are heartfelt sagas about common folk, in common situations. They value the human condition. Then again you have the Honky Tonk songs and they're just plain fun.
How can you hate country music? It covers such a broad range of topics, styles, and situations. There is at least one country song out there that will speak to your soul.
(That's assuming you have one.)
P.S. Those of you who say that country is twangy and for old people obviously haven't listened to anything younger than 15 years old. There are some totally funky party songs out there right now. Honkey Tonk Badonkadonk (Trace Adkins), red neck girls (Gretchen Wilson), and Me and My Gang (????? Drawing a Blank right now.)

I don't hate it....its not my favorite genre, I can say I don't listen to it, but there are about 4 songs that I like, and they are country!

I have never been to crazy about it. Everyone assumes that just because I'm from Texas, I love country music. UGH!!!!!!!!

I look at it as another form of R&B, if you think about it, they are pretty much the same, just one is for one culture and the other if for another culture. I don't listen to it, but it is a billion times better than that Metal crap.
