I enjoy several different types.I like history, and travel in non fiction and I love books by Brian Lumley in fiction,he writes very intelligently about vampiers and uses numbers to make his point,I also like Robert McCammon`s work such as Boys Life and Swan Song, altho they are complete oposites in subject and content. Both writers are wonderful in thier ability to put you into the "word worlds" they have created.

I only read about history, biographies, & classic literature. But if you want to sell books it seems you have to write about fantasy, science-fiction, or crime/suspense.

I read pretty much all genres, but the genres I read the most are chick lit (gotta get my fix) and mystery/suspense (sometimes romantic).
Both of these genres seem to be pretty popular right now.
