Why do people try to help complete strangers they meet on the Internet?

And why do some people worry so much about complete strangers? What do you care if some random person you've never met gets hurt or dies? I know that people do care, and I care about people I've never met too, I'm just wondering I guess why people work that way.

My dad has emotionally controlled me all my life. How can i get over my fear of him and stand up for myself.?

My dad has always told me what i can and cant do. Even when im not sure if he will let me do something i dont ask in fear that he will say no, he gets pleasure out of controlling me, when he doesnt let me do something he gloats about it and tries to get me to react to it. I end up in tears by myself all the time. When im out at a function and hes there he controls me with his eyes, he watches who i talk to and it makes me nerveous, i cant make a good impression or be myself because he is just standing there judging me. No matter how hard i try i cant seem to stop letting him do this to me, if i could ignore him i could be a better person but i cant, he has this emotional control over me. I want to get my confidence back and ignore him completly, if he doesnt like what im saying or doing i want to be able to not have to stress over his reaction, i want to have freedom.

have you ever played with a ouija board?

my cousin has and he said that after he played with one he went to sleep and his bed started shaking and seen his remote control fly through the air and hit the wall! then later he tried to burn it but it actually came back the next day in the same box he bought!! have yu guys had inexplicable experiences with ouija boards? and if so ! do you think mainstream science can actually explain whats causing this?

Can you recommend a good book to me?

Reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde right now, going to get into "Metamorphosis" by Kafka. Also a fan of Ayn Rand, Orscon Scott Card, and Dostoevsky. Recommend something with meaning, with substance.

A short synopsis would be helpful.
