The gospel of Judas gives us an alternative story of Jesus' betrayal. In it, Judas is asked by Jesus to "free Him of his clothes" (or something like that) which essentially means to free him from his physical body.
Don't you traditional Christians believe Jesus died for our salvation? So, therefore, his death was necessary. Why is it so far-fetched to believe that Judas was one of the apostles that truly understood Jesus' message about the spiritual vs. the physical? Judas needed to "betray" Jesus in order to give Jesus the opportunity to die in the way that he did & provide salvation for the world. Why don't people accept this? Why so threatened by it? How do we know what happened? All we have to go on is the Bible, which has been altered, edited, translated, and put together by man, by corrupt church officials? Any thoughts?
