In the comic books, Superman was just about beaten to death by Doomsday. While he lay in a coma, our Earthly medical equipment could not completely work right on his Kryptonian body and he was declared dead. Then between the funeral and entombing, we cut him off from the solar energy that helps give Superman his powers and almost killed him for "real"!
Meanwhile, as the readers were toyed with about which of the four would be Superman replacements (longer story there folks) might actually be genuine, mechanical servobots (for lack of a better name) broke Kal-El out of the tomb and took him back to the Fortress of Solitude for "proper" medical care.
In the end, Metropolis and the world regained the real Superman and he gained two new allies in Steel and the Superboy clone.
For a while afterwards, both Superman and Clark Kent sported long hair, but no one made the connection, and I already answered a previous question in more detail about how Superman protects his secret identity.
Doomsday is probably his greatest enemy on a purely physical level and the last I remember, he was trapped on some remote, lifeless world where he can't hurt anyone, especially Superman.

There are 2 mandatory components to evaluate while questioning this question. a million) Superman Returns is an extremely good action picture and a couple of) ineffective guy's Chest is a damaging mov...properly easily, i don't even opt to call it a action picture. Superman Returns became not your primary comedian e book action picture, it fairly is why there are various haters obtainable. No, it wasn't anti-American; whoever suggested it fairly is a buffoon. Criticizing your u . s ., as long as that's carried out with due appreciate, isn't anti-American...this is the accountable accountability of a patriot. as properly, Superman is incredibly lots the main patriotic American icon ever. ineffective guy's Chest became what Superman became not: a crowd pleaser. It became written for one purpose: make money. They extra back way too many characters and references from the 1st action picture (which became fantastic) in a shallow attempt to take the fast-cut back, hassle-free way out to reel interior the persons who have been followers of the 1st action picture. The plot became non-sensical, the characters static, and the completed premise became ridiculous. Superman wins.

Superman did not die! How on earth (pardon the pun) can Superman die? Sod bloody Doomsday (that's fictional) Superman was given the anti-kryptonite serum (when no-one was looking) and came back to save the Earth. Are you all morons? Or am I just another Superman fan.
I love it!!

Superman was revived after being killed by doomsday. I think a lot of sunlight was used to bring him back to life. Doomsday died but was also brought back to life
