My keyboard doesn't have the PRNT SCREEN or whatever button. And I don't really have a working printer. But the other day I saw my sister opened Paint and then another window and pressed a couple of keys and voila!! The screen-shot appeared in Paint! How do I do that?
I have Windows 98 =(

Your keyboard doesn't have a PrtSc / SysRq button? If it doesn't I'm not sure how without a program. Look for a SysRq button though. If you press alt and the SysRq button it takes a screen shot of the active window. If you press only the button it takes the whole screen. After taking the shot, open paint or word... depending on how you want to save it. In a new document/image press ctrl+V and it will paste your screenshot in... viola!

I haven't run across an IBM-compatible keyboard without a print screen key. Look for variations of the spelling - e.g., PrtSc. It may be in small print and may share a key with another function or character. If you can't find the key, you may have to go to the computer/keyboard manufacturer's website. If/Once you find the print screen key, pressing it is like hitting copy. Hitting just print screen captures everything on your screen. Hitting Alt and print screen captures the active window. You can paste into Paint or any Microsoft Office application. To Paste, you can use the menu bar (Edit - Paste) or just hit Ctrl-V.

If you don't have the Print Screen key on your keyboard, you can download a free Trial version of Gadwin to practice the technique:
http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/

You can save the Print Screen result in a file to email to a friend with a printer, if you need a hard copy for some reason.

Hope that helps!
