The horror was stunning, especially to Western sensibilities. We don't do such things. They do, and they did, and they relish it.
Zarqawi was not only behind such killings, he was reportedly the one who killed Nick Berg on camera. So now that the killer is dead, how does Nick's father react?
Incredibly, Michael Berg says he finds no satisfaction in that. He says he's sad ''that another human being had to die.'' He tells the media he's ''learned to forgive'' and has empathy for Zarqawi's family because of their loss.
In fact, he doesn't blame Zarqawi for his son's death or for the thousands killed in bombings instigated by al-Qaida under Zarqawi's direction. He blames President Bush and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld.
Yes, it's all George and Don's fault.
