Nick Berg was beheaded in Iraq two years ago and his death was famously recorded on video complete with the sound of his dying. The tape was sent to news outlets and was broadcast across the world.
The horror was stunning, especially to Western sensibilities. We don't do such things. They do, and they did, and they relish it.
Zarqawi was not only behind such killings, he was reportedly the one who killed Nick Berg on camera. So now that the killer is dead, how does Nick's father react?
Incredibly, Michael Berg says he finds no satisfaction in that. He says he's sad ''that another human being had to die.'' He tells the media he's ''learned to forgive'' and has empathy for Zarqawi's family because of their loss.
In fact, he doesn't blame Zarqawi for his son's death or for the thousands killed in bombings instigated by al-Qaida under Zarqawi's direction. He blames President Bush and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld.

The media even expressed sympathy for Zarqawi's death, mirroring Nick Berg's father in his ''sadness'' that a man died – that man being the murderer of his own son!
As details clarify, it appears no child was killed in the raid, as had first been reported. However, adding more fuel to the fire were reports that when Iraqi police first came to the scene, Zarqawi was alive for a short time on the stretcher.
Well! Reporters went crazy. When did he die? How many minutes was he alive? What killed him? Were his photos doctored? Was he shot? And on and on.
The media goal, of course, is to find us – the U.S. – guilty, in their minds, of murder. And if they believe that, they'll want Bush and Rumsfeld and our military to stand trial.
They have no morals, no ethics, no sense.
They're helping Islamic terrorists win.
It's treason.
But Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is still dead. And that's a good thing.
