A series of tests need to be taken first -- I am told . Is that proper procedure????????????????????????????????????????????

MIR was a Russian space station.

MRIs are expensive and there are usually other tests that are done first before your insurance company will regard the MRI as justified.

They do this for a couple of reasons....one, insurance co. will not pay for a $3000MRI before a $1000 CT/ultrasound. Two, other tests rule out more obvious problems. After those tests are done they can then see if an MRI is needed or not.
Also some tests are done and read faster. So, this is normal procedure, not that I always agree with it.

Ur not telling us what the MRI is for therefore I really can't answer your question. Body part and prior medical history are all taken into account. An MRI is a very expensive procedure.
