My doctor did an insulin level test and said my level was too high. He called it hyperinsulinemia. He said it is a precursor to diabetes and recommended I start metformin (glucophage) to help the insulin level come back down to normal range. And also the medicine would help the insulin work better. I queston using a diabetes medicine if I do not have diabetes. He said it was to prevent it from getting worse. Does anyone have additional information?

I do not really understand diabetes and how insulin works. Info on that would be helpful as well.

Okay, I work in a shop so I see a lot of stuff. I've always hated VW's but after really driving the Passat, I am considering one to purchase as an everyday use vehicle.

Question for you owners, as a mechanic, I take extreme care of all my cars. My current car has double mileage than others I see and their cars are usually breaking down, parts needing replacing, etc etc.

Seeing most VW's not maintained, I made an assumption that all VW's are unreliable and have many problems.

Can you prove me wrong so I can be more comfortable with this idea? Why should I get a Passat? Why not?

I'm planning on buying the 1.8t model by the way. Manual transmission. ANSWER AWAY!!

I notice that in areas of the country where people exercize more ,for example near the ski mountains, there seems to be much fewer people with "gland problems" or a "fat genes". I also notice that there are far fewer people with these "medical conditions" in foreign countries where they eat healthier and in more moderate amounts.

My grandparents live on their own in a city of two million people. Both are in their 70s and physically mobile, but Grandpa has very poor vision and can only navigate in familiar places. Grandma is strong-willed, has a lot of energy, but has been living with hearing impairment for over a decade. They fight every so often, with Grandpa a silent but increasingly childish person, and Grandma always perceiving herself as the oppressed. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Grandma always said they'd divorced if they were not Christians, and would often talk about her abused childhood. It's been going on like this for as long as I remember. I think both have a high risk for depression. But it's Asia. Grandchildren don't ask grandparents to see mental doctors. No one does that. What should I do?

Paul, in his zealot exaltation, admits and justifies, on Jesuitical principles, the preaching of falsehood, and feels really aggrieved that honest men should take exceptions to such mendacious propaganda:
"For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?" (Rom. 3.7)
In a spirit of good-humored naiveté he winks at the flock of Corinthians whom he has hooked into the fold, and admits that he had tricked them:
"Though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. But be it so: ... nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile." (2 Cor. 12.15-16)

Was christianity founded on lies?

And he admits to the church of Corinth: "I robbed other churches ... to do you service" (2 Cor. 11.8).

Did Jesus teach to lie and steal?
