I notice that in areas of the country where people exercize more ,for example near the ski mountains, there seems to be much fewer people with "gland problems" or a "fat genes". I also notice that there are far fewer people with these "medical conditions" in foreign countries where they eat healthier and in more moderate amounts.

Yes, There is a rare condition where the food intake is not converted to usable energy and is immediately turned into fat. These people can eat an enormous amount of food and actually become malnourished. The sad fact is most of them die very very early as they can not consume enough to maintain life and even being fat they "in essence starve to death"

Also, even though I am not obese I do know some people that are. Not one of them set out in life with the goal of becoming this way.
What you are doing when you insult, laugh at, make fun of, or any other form of degrading remark, is to hurt them.

That's it, you are hurting people whom you may or may not know for something that they have little to no control over.

Do you feel proud, strong, manly, when you say things like this?

You see, either it is a psychological addiction, or a genetic predisposition or a rare medical condition, Not one of these people started life wanting to be obese.

About the areas where people live... You simply have it backwards. People who are heavy do NOT go to the places where others who can ski, and be more active go.

The other countries it is exactly that, they don't have it to eat, and not that the problem would not exist if they had a lot of food.

Imagine this, You have an addiction. (ANY ONE ) you choose. Then you make it so you have to get some of that 3 times a day to survive. Just like you would for food. And you also have it advertised all over and you have to go shopping for it. Etc. Food addiction has to be incredibly hard to beat because everywhere you go there is food.

There are many genetic & scientific reasons for Obesity....But historically, percentage-wise, they do not vary significantly on a Yearly Basis.

However, the general cause for alarm Now...is the increasing percentages of Obesity among the Younger Populations.

Many foreign countries don't have Avenues/Streets packed with Fast-Food Franchises...Some have none at all. They exist on the same foods that their Ancestors did...And, They're Healthy!

But, We live in a world of Conveniece!...We often don't have time to prepare food the night before work, or upon returning home from work....It's easier to pickup a Bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken to feed the Family at Dinnertime...Or, Pull through McDonald's Drive-Thru on your Lunch Hour!

That's the Problem!...You aren't getting Wholesome Foods. You're eating cancer-causing preservative chemicals, fatty acids, etc, etc, etc. Same with the pre-packaged Dinners you buy in the Grocery Stores...Many contain MSG - proven very harmful!.

So, for a large portion of the Obese Population...I believe there's No Excuse...Eat Healthier! Make sure You're eating fresh fuits & vegetables on a Daily basis. Avoid Fatty-Foods! Analyze your Eating Habits...Determine what foods you should avoid Or eat more of...The Internet is full of ideas to create a Well-Balanced Diet.

Fast Food can do the trick in a pinch - Just don't become reliant on it!

and so your conclusion from all this evidence is? If you feel you already have the answer, why did you bother to ask the question. My question is "is there any excuse for opinionated, prejudiced know-it-alls?" I notice when I go near computer questions there are many more people who have these ego genes. I also notice that there are far fewer of these people with "ego conditions" in foreign countries where they think more sensibly and are much more polite.

People who live near ski & mountains become automatically healthier and fit because of weather and walking. Obesity has become a curse in today's modern society due to bad eating habits and lack of exercise. There is no excuse for obesity.

I think the superficial people need to worry about their own business regarding health. Japan is one of the biggest superficial countries out there, I even heard South Korea is worse. Everything is based on the outside and being borderline-anorexic is the prefered weight women should keep. Making fun of people who have weight challenges due to various reasons is a A o.k. in Japan. I am getting sick of the World's skinny people putting standards on all people and judging them by their appearance.
Mind your own damn businesses, why don't you?

The reason why people die trying to look ideal is because people like you making it the standard for everyone regardless of their physical or physiological make up. We see it in the fashion and modeling industry around the World.

Just mind your own damn businesses is the bottom line.

Well, obesity and other eating disorders have been labeled as a psychological problem. However, there is also the contribution of the society that we live in and the fact that we are living in sich a fast paced world that no one has time to eat properly any more...

Fat people are fat because they have no self control. It is a weakness of their personalities.
