Wow wat a question! I Don't think if u travel around the world to get to know the counties, to find the worst, U you will find yourself in a a big problem. All the counties have their uniqueness. They have their own culture, which no one else share. You will find each 1 more amazing the other.

whoever said Syria has nooooooooooooo idea what Syria is!!! people in Syria live great, especially entertainment wise. i go there every summer and it is a BEAUTIFUL country with Muslims and Christians living peacefully together. seriously though, I would prefer living there than in Europe (I am still trying to move there) but to say it is the worst country???? you might not have as much freedom as the US, but compare it to the other Arabic country and it is the US of the middle east (well, sort of.. it isn't democratic yet).
The most horrible country depends on what you consider horrible. Life in Afghanistan is surely tough, Iran also, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Somalia.. other African nations like maybe Tanzania. There are some countries in south east Asia like even Cambodia that might be a bit better than Afghanistan but not a whole lot!

but honestly.. WHO SAID SYRIA??? look your things up before you speak, sheesh what ignorance. on the positive side, it was funny.

and to all the smarty pants that are saying US: HAVE YOU EVER SEEN, LIVED OR VISITED OTHER COUNTRIES??? you should feel lucky you can go outside with your ankles showing.. in some countries you get a fine, hit by the police or even jail for that!!! you should feel lucky that a large population is able to eath well and dress without making huge sacrifices!! come on people, wake up and smell the newspapers.. if you dont like your president it doesn't make your country the 'most horrible', you would prefer a dictator like Iran's or even something like the x president (mafioso) of Italy Berlusconi???? Americans, be thankful and stop complaining!!!

by the way, in my answer i defined horrible as tough to live in, make money, low standard of living, and little freedom. otherwise, yes each country has its attributes and beauties.

Right now, I think one of the most horrible countries is the US, I think that our constitution is amazing and our philosophies are brilliant, but we are being ran in to the ground by a power hungry and corrupt government. The US government is supposed to be ran by the people for the people, and it's just not happening right now. Kind of like communism. In theory, it's a great idea, but it has never happened and never will be able to happen because no one is stupid enough to step down from absolute power. If the US has a revolution by the people to change the government to fit with the times ( like the constitution suggests) then I will definitely recant my statement. I am patriotic to a point, but I am ashamed of what our country has turned in to.
