Besides going out to dinner and a movie, what is a fun date idea in the Phoenix/Tempe/Chandler/Mesa area??

We have done Golf Land, Phoenix Zoo, and Jesters, to name a few.

If you know something that is FUN and not expensive to do around here I would love to hear your ideas or experiences.

Thanks.

Why doesn't Arizona observe daylight savings time?
Also, does Arizona refrain from daylight savings every year? Or is this a new thing?

Thanks

I'm visiting the Grand Canyon in May. We've decided to backpack. We've decided either South Kaibab going in and Bright Angel coming out or Hermit trail going in and Bright Angel coming out.
I am not an experienced backpacker, but the person I'm going with is. We're both in pretty good shape....
Any advice on either loop? And what can I expect? Any info or advice would be great!

If so, what can you tell me about it. I have been to Woods Canyon Lake and Ashurst Lake. I have checked out the links already, but what I am wondering are the campsites next to the lake? Or are they an easy walk? What else should i know about it?

I have gone through Arizona questions and a few times I have seen people answer questions and then end it with a comment of ............... "REMEMBER THIS IS ARIZONA NOT ILLINOIS"?

What do they mean by this comment?
I am curious because I am from Illinois, Chicago to be exact
( gold coast) and I don't know if this is a warning or what?
When people tell you if you can live in New York or Chicago then you can live anywhere then they mean JUST THAT!!

I have been to Arizona and reside in Chicago and I feel that a person from Chicago should be making a statement similiar to above. There are big differences, Chicago never sleeps, Where as Arizona does. Again, I am just curious about the comments, no direspect or to be misunderstood.
**** I would hope that the ones that feel this way have been to Chicago/ Illinois to be educated when making the comment.
**** IF YOU ANSWERED LIKE THIS IN THE PAST THEN PLEASE EXPLAIN, best answered directly from the horses mouth.
