We might be moving there and im not sure if it is a great place for kids? is gilbert or chandler better? i have one in 9th grade adn one in 7th. Which area would you recomned. any information helps!!!!!

The Scottsdale Public school district is one of the best in the state. Unfortunately, that does not mean it compares well to schools in other states since Arizona is ranked 48 of 50 states for education. Our 'top notch' schools would be mediocre in some place like New York. From what I have heard on moms groups, the schools in Gilbert are bad and Chandler is already becoming run down and gang ridden. Kyrene district (in Ahwatukee) is the other top rated. There are some good charter schools around too and some great private schools for about $400-500 per month. You can view teacher to student ratios, crime stats, past test scores, teacher experience, and link to the state ratings to see who is performing vs highly performing vs excelling.
