Bus riding tips. Sit as close to the front as possible, sometimes the back part of the bus will have an aroma you may not like. Seats are not reserved If you get off at stops to stretch your legs you might need to look for a different seat when you get back on. Go to the Greyhound website and search through the L A - Phx schedules. As another has said some buses are "Expresses" such as #1437 (11:00am depart, 7:00pm arrive) and make few stops, and some are called "Locals" such as # 6315 (7:15 am depart, 5:25 pm arrive) and makes stops in many towns which makes for a very long trip. Also be aware that the greyhound station in downtown Los Angeles is in a very seedy part of town so be aware of your surroundings. Good Luck to you and enjoy your stay in California.

Yikes, that is going to be a LONG bus ride. I've taken the bus a few times and it depends on the time of day you leave but it can take any where from 8 to 9 hours. One trip took almost 13 hours. Not the best way but it is the cheapest. It was around $40 or $50. You are going to get hungry so pack some food thats for sure!
