That depends what you're into.
If it's museums, I'd say the Heard Museum is a must see. If it's youthful summer recreation, then tubing on the Salt River is great fun. (Google "Salt River Recreation")

University of Phoenix Arena has the Cardinals and many other functions
Climb Piestewa Peak
The Scottsdale Art Walk
Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse
Apache Trail Scenic Drive
South Mountain Park
Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot (this is north of Phoenix but well worth the hour or so drive)
Phoenix and Scottsdale are also home to some of the most wonderful museums

Tubing down the Salt River is a must during the summer months. The 50 degree water is perfect in the 115 degree weather.

Superstition mountains! beautiful hiking there, plus other great places to hike,, south mountain, Estrella mtn., red mtn. and many others, many beautiful lakes,, canyon lake has a Nice restaurant right on the edge of the lake.
