I have gone through Arizona questions and a few times I have seen people answer questions and then end it with a comment of ............... "REMEMBER THIS IS ARIZONA NOT ILLINOIS"?

What do they mean by this comment?
I am curious because I am from Illinois, Chicago to be exact
( gold coast) and I don't know if this is a warning or what?
When people tell you if you can live in New York or Chicago then you can live anywhere then they mean JUST THAT!!

I have been to Arizona and reside in Chicago and I feel that a person from Chicago should be making a statement similiar to above. There are big differences, Chicago never sleeps, Where as Arizona does. Again, I am just curious about the comments, no direspect or to be misunderstood.
**** I would hope that the ones that feel this way have been to Chicago/ Illinois to be educated when making the comment.
**** IF YOU ANSWERED LIKE THIS IN THE PAST THEN PLEASE EXPLAIN, best answered directly from the horses mouth.

Clarification of question....
When I go thru yahoo answers and question, I have seen 3 questions that people asked in regards to relocating from Illinois to Arizona and people ASNWERED in the end by saying ....
Dont come here thinking Arizona is like Illinois.
Not certain if this is an insult ( bashing Chicago) or if they are saying just not to set yourself up for disapointment.

I'm from Arizona and reside in Chicago. I've seen the same statement. I think it just has to do with the different philosophy on life - Chicago is kind of a fast paced, go to it kind of city, whereas Phoenix is much more laid back, relaxed, and spread out.

The weather is so different, the downtown so different, the style so different - even though Phoenix is filled with Chicagoans and the Cubs play there! It's just a statement of difference.

That all said, I prefer Chicago. :)

I am originally from Illinois ( western suburbs of Chicago ) and I now live in Tucson, AZ. I have never heard that comment before nor do I understand it. Yes, Arizona is different from Illinois but, so is every other state different from one another.
