I have lived it for 26 years and loved every minute...sure it can get hot, but thats why you have shade and air conditioning....as far as places to live....scottsdale and Paradise valley are very nice, but also extremely expensive....Chandler is very nice too and still reasonably priced....though a lot of local celebs are starting to move there bc they can get more for their money. Gilbert is also nice. Mesa is hit and miss....there are some nice parts, but a lot of slummy parts, same with Tempe and Phoenix....North Central Phoenix is nice, but can be pricy. I personally dont care much for the westside of town....there isnt too much there and is mostly not a very good place to live.

I grew up in Phoenix. I hate the heat and live in North Carolina now. Moved in 1972 but went back in 2000 for 6 years and remembered why I moved in the first place so I moved here last summer.

However, Mesa and Chandler are both nice. So is Tempe if you like college towns. Arizona State University is there. Tempe is pretty "Yuppie" nowadays. It was a sleepy little town when I was a kid there in the 50's.

Pretty much anything on the East side of Phoenix is nice although there are pockets of "not so nice" areas everywhere.

I have never lived in AZ. I do have a brother that has lived there for many years and I have visited him on occasion He had a place in the White Mountains The town was Overgaard, I was very impressed and I could have easily have moved there. It is just beyond commuting back and forth to Phoenix but I still wanted to move and would if it were possible to for me and my family. I left Phoenix about 10:30 am temp 110 degrees and arrived at the house in Overgaard and the temp was about 80 degrees at night you had to sleep with a blanket. I am a hunter and fisherman and both are readily available. I was very pleasantly surprised as I had been to AZ. many times before and I pretty much got the idea that AZ was nothing but desert,....wow this was no desert.

I live in Buckeye which is about 35 miles west of Phoenix. Just moved here from San Diego in December. It is nice here. What is impressive is that everything is brand new. Buckeye is the fastest growing city in AZ. Large and small businesses are arriving almost on a daily basis.

What's nice about Buckeye is you have all the amenities of Phoenix without the traffic. Check out this website for more details. www.buckeyeaz.gov

I stay in Scottsdale. i'm nonetheless a advantageous female from the midwest however. particular, the night existence has a good number of the pretend, plastic ladies and spray tanned, tight tshirt men. this is hit or omit however for the night existence. some spots are actual relax, you purely gotta experience it out. at the same time as particular there are some human beings right here like that, no longer every person is like that. maximum folk right here weren't born right here, a good number of human beings circulate to Scottsdale type different places. i might advise to no longer circulate to south Scottsdale, it is not as advantageous. only like all huge city there will be wealthy snobs and favourite human beings. that's an amazing place to stay. the climate is suited.

Do you mean anywhere in Arizona? In the Phoenix area, Scottsdale is the most upscale area, though Paradise Valley is nice. If you mean outside Phoenix, both Tucson and Flagstaff are pleasant cities.

Not sure what kind of town you're looking for, but we just got back from visiting family in Prescott AZ. Nice city, it actually snowed while we were there which I never associated with AZ, but it was also sunny and warm during our stay. Kind of the best of both!

I lived in the valley (phoenix metro area) for seven years. But it was too hot for me. I moved to Flagstaff 6 years ago and have never looked back.
