I am originally from Chicago, I have vacationed in Port Charlotte several times ( family lived there ) and I now live in Tucson, AZ.
So, speaking from experience, I must tell you AZ in alot better in many ways. First, the weather is wonderful ! Yes, it gets a little hot here but, it nothing compared to FL because, we have no humidity. ( yes, it makes a big difference ) When it's hot here you can actually breathe unlike humid areas of the US and the heat it not unbearable at all. We don't have weather related problems like tornado's, hurricanes. We do get rain but, only during Monsoon season. We have beautiful mountain ranges to look at and explore unlike FL which is flat. Although, FL has beautiful beaches we are only a days drive from Mexico and California to experience that. Living here is pretty cheap. Jobs are pretty easy to find. I had no job when I moved here and had no problem getting one although, the pay was a little less than in Chicago.
If you haven't been to AZ, come for a visit and see what it's like. And, come in July or August when it's the hottest to see if you like the heat. I do !
Hope this helps a little.

i've got not been to Nashville, yet i be responsive to that Nashville has an thrilling song way of existence. between the matters with Phoenix is that, it being so new, it extremely hasn't had time to enhance a manner of existence. it somewhat is almost like it somewhat is in transition - it have been given so massive, so speedy, that it somewhat is purely form of ... there, you be responsive to? it somewhat is recuperating, in spite of if it purely does not have the way of existence of Nashville. That reported, the job industry there is nice. human beings shop pouring into the city. good areas and undesirable areas are form of scattered around the city - back, regrettably, simply by its speedy growth - yet the two the suburbs of Scottsdale and Tempe are advantageous, and imperative and north Phoenix are friendly, somewhat north imperative street. additionally, downtown is at as quickly as recuperating, however there's a large form of shape there subsequently. in terms of issues to do, back, Phoenix has friendly sufficient eating places, museums, motorbike trails, activities, and parks, in spite of if it somewhat is all slightly scattered. The desolate tract scene takes some getting used to. definitely, the extremely advantageous issues are Arizona itself - the nearness to the mountains, the crimson rocks of Sedona, Lake friendly, the intense pines of Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon. Phoenix is okay, in spite of if it somewhat is not a city interior the classic sense. not yet, besides.

You should definately move to FL, purely for my own selfish reasons though. It's sickening how the desert is being desecrated by all the new homes going up.

Me, personally? Arizona, hands down.
Not humid - close to CA. Inexpensive housing.
