My husband and I (and 2 sons - 15 and 17 years old) are staying at a cabin in the Ozarks for a week. Branson is only about a 2 hour drive from there, so we want to go and spend an afternoon there.

Where is a good place to go eat and be in the middle of the action?

Where are a couple of good places to go?

I'm sick of living in Michigan. It has no good jobs that are hiring and it's not even beautiful. I want to move to a warmer state, that has a lot of offering jobs and is just beautiful.

What state do you think offers these things??

My family and I have planned a vacation trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenneessee for the weekend coming up. However, I have already looked on weather.com and there is some precipitation, like 30% of rain on Saturday and Sunday. I dread that because we have planned to go to Dollywood on Sunday and then go to the Dixie Stampede on Sunday night. Should I worry about the weather so much or can we still go even if it rains? I mean, are there lots of things at Dollywood that you can do indoors? Also, is the Dixie Stampede indoors? I know that the weather precipitation can change from now to then, but how usual is it for it to rain around this time in Tenneesee? Please share past experiences and ideas.

I'd like some opinions please. I'm driving from Lebanon MO to Washington DC next week and would like to know which route is the fastest and more economical - the southern route through Kentucky and West Virginia or through Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania. I know that there are toll roads in West Virginia, but I'm wondering if the gas prices are low enough in the south to compensate for them. And would anyone know how much the toll roads are in West Virginia?

Thanks for the help and advice.

I live in Ohio and prices for gas range from $3.10-$3.60 depending on the day of the week. I have a large family, so when we all travel ANYWHER we use a conversion van. My husband runs for the fire department and his truck uses almost $40 a week.

Thanks to the hike in gas prices, we have stopped our weekly ritual of eating out on Thursday evenings. We usually are large festival goers, but because it costs so much to go 40-60 miles away now, we've found that the cost to actual travel that far and back eats up our "festival allowance."
Finally, we have cut our errands down to one day a week.
My sister, a single gal with a new car who lives close to her work, says the gas prices have barely affected her whatsoever.
I was curious to see how it's affecting everyone else.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
