EXPERIENCED TRAVELER NEEDED! Does anyone know a relaxing and affordable place to rent a log cabin?

I live in Washington state near the capital. I would like to travel only about 2-3 hours (but not north). I'm bringing my husband and two children ages 9 and 1. We'd like to try hiking and fishing. We plan on staying for two or three days.

Hi, I travel a lot from the UK and find that renting a log cabin or something similar in British Columbia, Canada is a real bargain.
