I m moving to east TN next month, its absolutely beautiful. Its where i got married last year and spent my honeymoon. The smokey mountains are just so breath taking! wonderful people also and plenty of jobs. Just an all round great atmosphere. you will never get bored! At least give this place a try. Once you go there you will not want to go back! The prettiest places are gattlinburg, sevierville, pigeon forge, and around Cherokee lake.

I live in Kentucky. We have beautiful scenery, but the job market is lackluster and its people are pretty unfriendly. I know where you're coming from, and it's best that you don't move here.
Would it surprise you to know that Texas is beautiful? (Okay, maybe not around Houston.) That's where I want to move to. The job markets in and near Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and even San Marcos and Tyler are all booming. There are mesas, deserts, semi-grasslands, mountains, and plains in the west. There are plains and gently-rolling hills in the central part (and wildflower covered ones, at that.) Don't forget the hill country around Austin and Fredericksburg, which are the remnants of a decayed mountain range and has a high concentration of natural limestone bluffs and spring-fed bodies of water. Lovely! In the east, there are piney woods, beaches (some of which are dirty, unfortunately,) and swamps.
Away from the areas near oil refineries and Galveston, so much of Texas is absolutely beautiful! It has character, charm, and different states of mind. It's also the cleanest state I've ever been to!
If not Texas, then try Georgia. One word: Atlanta.
North Carolina, Tennessee, and Arizona are also pretty states aesthetically and economically.
Avoid California: horrendous cost of living.

I have been in 27 States and lived in 16 of them. There is no ONE good State, but you can still make one if you travel.
I have a Motor Home and spend winters in Texas, Mississippi or Florida. I spend summers in Missouri, Colorado or New Mexico...
It's the best of all worlds

California! Nice weather, nice beaches, nice little towns, great cities. Lake Tahoe, Las vegas, Los angeles, san fran. Good stuff all around! great thing is that you can fly/take a short drive down to nearly everywhere in the state.
Warm in winter and cool in summer. Come join us californian beach bums here!

Maryland, Texas, Florida, Arizona, or California, roughly in that order. I live in Pennsylvania and know where you're coming from.

California is always a nice choice. Near the coast, nice weather, multi-culture, natural wonders.... etc.
