More to do in Galveston. Plus, interesting history (1900 hurricane), magnificent old homes open to public, The Strand, and Col. Bubbie's (you'll know when you get there...lol). I vote Galveston!

Port A for sure. It is quirky like Key West. And it is smaller than Galveston. I think the beaches and water is cleaner in Port A. Go to Galveston if you want to do a lot of sightseeing - like The Strand or The Bishops Palace. Go to Port A if you just want to relax on a great beach - not be too crowded - not have too many cars and traffic to deal with - have great restaurants. I think Port A is a little friendlier because it is smaller.
