I did an impromptu road trip through the Midwest this week. I found that in Nebraska, the Dakotas, and Iowa that mid grade gasoline was about five to ten cents *cheaper* per gallon than the low grade gasoline. Also, in Nebraska gasoline is as much as 20 cents/gallon more expensive than in southeast Texas. That's unlike what I've seen in the Northeast part of the country as well.

We are planning a trip to TN in a week or so to get some fireworks for the Fourth of July. We are coming from WV so we are only about 3 and a half hours from the TN border. Anyway, does anyone have any opinion about the best place to go for the best prices. Also, any idea on where we can get some coupons for them?
Thanks!

I'm tempted to visit asia and europe by bus or whoever will give me a ride. I simply can't afford the plane ticket there so I'm wondering if, from california, I can somehow take a massive roadtrip through the bering strait. Can it be done? do boats regularly ferry travelers through there?

My boyfriend of 3 years lives in Colorado and is finally driving down here to Maryland in July to spend some time with me. He is only 18 though and I was curious to know if you have to at LEAST be 21 to book a hotel reservation in Maryland. Lastnight him and I were looking at hotels online at "hotwire.com" and it asked for the primary's name which said they must be 21 years old with proper ID at check-in...Any answers??? Thanks <3

We'll be traveling to Rapid City this summer, and are looking for a fun, interesting hotel. Price doesn't matter. Something like a historic building, or beautiful lodge, or nice B&B. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

HELP!!! I need help because I have no clue what to get my daughter this year for her 17th birthday. I need to do something fabulous. Her birthday is July 1. Our family reunion will be July 3-6 and we will have to start off from home on her birthday for our road trip, so we can get there to catch the charter bus. So I need help. What can I do on a road trip to make her birthday spectacular? Her suggestion was to stop at every outlet mall and three other malls along the way. I don't know about that. I would be broke before my trip begins.

I live about an hour away from Miami and sometimes I like visiting it and other surrounding areas for no reason other than the hell of it because I like to see other areas in my state and what they look like. Other people say I'm weird because of this but I guess I just enjoying traveling and seeing new places. What do you think? Does anyone else do stuff like this?

I've lived in San Diego for four years, but I still have not seen very much of California and the rest of the Western US.

I'm looking for suggestions for some trips my girlfriend and I can take for long weekends (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon).

These are our requirements...

- No more than 5-6 hour drive from San Diego each way, or no more than 2 hours by plane. We really don't want to spend more than half a day traveling each way.

- Been to Vegas many times, so don't suggest there.

- Nowhere in Mexico.

- National parks and scenic areas are great, but there must be some decent hotels nearby (no camping or cabins).

- We can't afford five star hotels and restaurants, but we're okay with spending money on "higher end" (3.5 or 4 star) places.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
