My husband and I (and 2 sons - 15 and 17 years old) are staying at a cabin in the Ozarks for a week. Branson is only about a 2 hour drive from there, so we want to go and spend an afternoon there.

Where is a good place to go eat and be in the middle of the action?

Where are a couple of good places to go?

Don't miss Silver Dollar City it is awesome. Also Ripley's is cool and I wish I had seen the Titanic exhibit. Putt putt and go carts are fun. We ate at Red Lobster and Stake and Shake.

You could eat anywhere and be in the middle of the action in Branson. McFarlane's is a good place to eat. The Dolly Parton Stampede dinner show isn't bad. The Duck Tour drives you right out and into the lake. The kids would enjoy that. Check out the Branson website

You are too young to enjoy Branson and your sons are way too young to enjoy Branson. Table Rock lake is very enjoyable if you like outdoor activities but you don't have to drive two hours to get to Branson so that you can do something outdoors. Silver Dollar City may be worth going to but I wouldn't drive two hours for that either. Branson is buffet food, go cart tracks, mini golf, shows that appeal to retired folks, etc...Skip it and enjoy your vacation closer to the cabin.

I haven't found a really good place to eat in Branson. But there is good shopping and Silver Dollar City or Celebration City. There is one road in and one road out of Branson so you can't miss anything!

Branson is nice and alot of fun (lived an 90 minutes north for 11 years) . The shows are great, alot to do there. Be sure to eat at the diner where they throw your rolls to you. Thats more towards Springfield but it's fun (www.throwedrolls.com).

It's been a couple years since I've been but if the Hughes Brothers or the Dutton's are still there, I'd reccomd seeing those shows. I never found a great place to eat, and a couple of the Chinese Buffets made me sick.
