I love Oregon but I'm tired of the cold, wet weather. I want to move somewhere WARM but as liberal as possible - and NOT California. Where should I go? Be specific!

Hi
I drive on 405 freeway everyday from West Valley to Gardena and it takes one and half hours to 2 hours one way. Do you know any nice car pool web site or public transportation for this route?

I am currently living in Wisconsin and am planning to relocate. I want to live somewhere that has consistently pleasant weather (I don't mind changing seasons, but am tired of long cold winters). I need to be near a music community, some educational facilities that cater to retirees and far from the racism, poverty, and ignorance that is so prevalent in most of our large American cicites. Asheville, North Carolina and Ashland, Oregon look like good choices. Please share your opinion of these and any other parts of the USA that you think are good places to live for creative, openminded, outdoorsy people.

I am moving, definitly, on August 4th this year. I know that i want palm trees, beaches, good weather, a good overall atmosphere, and preferrably low crime rate. I also need the area to be affordable, $700 a month for rent... Based on experiences, where is the best place to live based on what i want?

We presently live in New Jersey, but it is too crowded, too expensive, and too snobby for our tastes (the town we live in is, at least). We have three children, are planning on homeschooling for philosophical reasons, and would like to live somewhere with a larger homeschooling population, I am also interested in living somewhere where there is plenty of organic, and vegan food, as well as a more holistic approach to health. I would like to have a lot of land, and not a ton of people. We are mostly considering North Carolina, but I would love others opinions!

My BF & I are going to the central coast the 2nd week of March for what will be the first trip to Paso, Napa, SLO for both of us. We've got the hotel situation pretty much under control, but I'm wondering what I might need to know about must-see vineyards, restaurants, attractions, etc. And do we need to RSVP to any of the wineries? What is the average price per tour/tasting? What's the average time spent at each vineyard (in order to figure roughly how many places we can see in one day)? We will be driving from LV, into Paso, making our way up to SF within a week's time and would like to get the most out of this trip as possible, so any suggestions are much appreciated!

I wish I had investigated this company on the web before using the company suffice to say lesson learned. After reading hundreds of complaints I would have not used their services. I made a simple mistake and called them immediately literally within minutes and was greeted rudely and spouted a company line that has no regard for any situation. I found there is no real recourse from them or any of there affiliates including discover card. I have dealt with many companies and have never had such treatment I suggest you read about them from real customers before you use them. I'm suggesting if you find your self in this situation boycott there partners as well perhaps the will begin to have consideration for their customers. So what else should I do?

I from the midwest, a college graduate (bachelor's), Im 26, and I have a few years of experience in Human Resources. I've visited Cali (Los Angeles) a few times and I absolutely love it and plan to move there. But it's SO expensive, espeically in terms of housing. And it doesn't seem like the jobs pay more to compensate for the high cost of living.

I am single and I dont have any children. I'm willing to sacrafice, even if I have to live in a studio apartment (as long as it's in a decent neighborhood--which will still probably cost me about $900 p/m) for a few years. But part of me is afraid. Should I go for it? Any success stories? Anyone live out there? How are you making it?
