What are the average fares for things in New York such as : taxi, subway, bus, (outside of transit cards if they do not cover bus fares), and the carriage rides in Central Park (in February - during the week)? And what are some of the cheapest lunch options we'd find? (I.e. - would it be trying to locate a McDonalds, street vendors, small cafés, lunch wagons?)

I want to go to NYC this summer for my birthday. What are somethings that I must do and see?

Has anyone been on any tours there? Where did you go and was it fun and interesting or a waste of time?

What's the best way to travel? car rental, taxi, subway?

Any other helpful tidbits would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's a massive globe monument/statue "thing". I thought it was at the foot of the WTC, but I now think it is the World's Fair exhibit from 1964 (?). Where is it located? WHAT is it?

I see there are a couple of bus companies, but I wonder if the train would, uh, have a higher quality clientelle.

I am planning to have my internship in Union Square, Manhattan, NYC. Any suggestions on where I can stay in NY? I mean not so expensive place like dorm or near Union Square. Any suggestion? What's the convenient and nice place to live in NY? Based on my personality, I like to attend piano concerts, culture and and arts. Where can I stay in NY? I saw in the internet that there's a bunk bed dorm in Greene Ave., Brooklyn that has a rate of $450. Is that reasonable rate? Is that near Union Square? Is it a nice place? What is the distance from Greene Ave., Brooklyn going to Union Square? How do I get to Union Square from Greene Ave. Brooklyn? Is it by bus? Subway? How many rides? How much will I spend for the transportation?

I want to live in the city but I don't mind having a roommate (or two). I would leave my car at home. I am single and have no pets. The reason I ask is because I am appying for jobs in NY and I don't know what salary I could live by on. For what I want to do a lot of jobs only want to pay $35,000. I don't know if I could survive on that in New York.
