I just got to wondering, as I've been reading stories the past few days about NYC officials denying Iran's madman president permission to visit Ground Zero during the upcoming UN General Assembly, and I got to wondering, what permission do world leaders need to venture into parts of New York City and elsewhere outside the U.N.? Could they technically be arrested and deported? (Not that deportation would be a bad thing for Iran's president...) Has this happened before with other world leaders at the U.N.?

I am moving to NY with a salary of 55k. Ideally, I would like to stay on the island of Manhattan. I'm used to small spaces, have lived in nyc years ago but with a roomate- which, I am way too old for now! I'm really just looking for an area that's safe and not too far away from transportation.

I am looking to go to a Drive-in Movie (never been). I live in New Jersey, so I would prefer it not to be on Long Island. So, like, from New York City north, and all locations west. I need a location, hours of operation, and a map. I am having no luck searching the internet.

I grew up in the south bronx when it was bad... we did all it all, and I mean things that kids out there would never repeat.
But I grew up moved to San francisco and now I'm a SAP
engineer.
Whenever I visit the city and go out I want to throw up whenever I see these nyc transplants touting "well we're from nyc so things are tougher out here",or" we're faster paced than you guys out there"...In my opinion New york is nothing like the cultural melting pot that I remember.
You can't even get into a decent nightclub unless you're buying a bottle of overpriced champagne.
The people seem so fake and concerned with sleeping with as many people as possible.
The streets are dirty, requiring copious amounts of face wash to remove the layers of soot.
People from new york are not what they used to be...What happened to the love? what happened to our P.R pride parade? What happened to The vibe at the clubs?
Places like the tunnel, twilo, vinyl(the arc) ,Palladium?

I am planning to move to NYC at the beginning of January but I have a problem. I live on the West coast and bought a Mazda Miata 1 year ago, financed and i still owe about 11k on it. Now, I know that I can't take this car with me to NYC because of obvious reasons (not a winter car, too expensive to keep, not too safe to drive across country, etc)..now what can i do? Do i trade it in for something else and still make payments and find someplace with decent parking (Queens or Long Island maybe?).or do I trade it in, store it in Upstate NY where I'm from....any ideas???

It's been 6 years, why have'nt they fixed the Twin Towers yet?
It only took a few weeks to fix the pentagon. I would think that the owner took the money from the insurance company and abandoned it, but it's like owned by the state or something, right?

My girlfriend and I just moved to the 193rd street/Audubon Ave area of Washington Heights, right near the high school and close to the big hill that takes you down into Inwood (about the only place we could afford). Nobody has given me any problems so far, but I was just wondering if I'm setting myself up for trouble or will I be safe in this neighborhood?

What's the easiest way to get from NYC Greyhound bus station to La Guardia airport? As far as I know, there's no airtrain like at JFK to get directly to it and there is no Subway line. I'm new to travel in NYC and I don't know the buses and stuff.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Vitalius.
