I just got to wondering, as I've been reading stories the past few days about NYC officials denying Iran's madman president permission to visit Ground Zero during the upcoming UN General Assembly, and I got to wondering, what permission do world leaders need to venture into parts of New York City and elsewhere outside the U.N.? Could they technically be arrested and deported? (Not that deportation would be a bad thing for Iran's president...) Has this happened before with other world leaders at the U.N.?

Y'know pastor,
I read an online news article about this situation last night; I'm not going to claim legal expertise in this area, but my understanding is that he is under diplomatic restrictions of travel within a certain radius of his destination.
The United States has a long history of allowing free speech to unpopular viewpoints. The White House spokesman mentioned refered to Soviet Kruschev banging his shoe, and Fidel Castro's lengthy rants at the UN.
My personal opinion is the same as that of retired soldiers I know who consider any member of a hostile nation's government on our soil as an act of war, and he should be shot on site. I would imagine this is why the article I read stated that the Secret Service would be providing security. Our tax dollars at work.
I am SO going to be disciplined for posting this.

No one really pays any attention to others walking the street. That's why there are so many celebrities living in Manhattan. For the most part, New Yorkers just leave them alone. It's tourist who approach them.

If it's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and he bumps into Guido, from Staton Island, whose brother jumped out of the WTC on 9/11/01, one thing might happen. If he bumps into one of the American hating Communist from Columbia University, something else will happen.

If vote for that first thing. You go Guido.
