About to become first time skiers but do not want to spend 300 bucks each on new ski gear for what may be just one days activity on the slope. We want to either rent by the day or buy second hand.

How is I-25 between Denver and Cheyenne? What about between Cheyenne and Casper? How much additional time is needed compared to normal conditions? Are there any clear lanes? or is it snow packed?

I've asked what the city of Denver is like. Now I'm curious what the metro area as a whole is like. Take the city and the suburbs as a whole and rate it for me on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the coolest). Who would do best in the suburbs and city? Conservatives or liberals? Families or young libertines? Is it cosmopolitan or a cowtown?

I would appreciate any advise from anyone in Denver or with experience in Denver travel. I am scheduled to fly in tomorrow night around 11pm but with this storm they are having I am questioning the trip. Even if the airport lets flights in, what can I expect as far as roads, etc...
I am staying in downtown Denver, which is about 25-30 miles away. I am picturing a long, slow, expensive cab ride.
Thats if the airport is even open.
My flight and hotel are refundable. Should I get out now?
Thanks for the advise.

On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the coolest), how much do you like metro Denver, Colorado? And why? What type person would most fit in there (Republicans, religious people, hippies, families, single people, etc.)?

My husband has had to drive through Denver on I-70 going West to get to a new job and he is stuck in the snow storm right now. He is on the West side of Denver heading towards Vail. He is headed to North Eastern Utah. If he doesnt make it by tomorrow morning he probably wont get the job that they are holding for him! Im so worried about him and the job. Do you think he will make it? Does anyone know at what point he will be safe, out of the storm and back into decent weather? Im just very worried about him. We dont live anywhere near where it snows, so I dont know much about it.

Denver, Colorado (my hometown) has been in the national spotlight recently with our big blizzard (my suburb got 32 inches!!). I'm just curious what other people imagine Denver to be like. Or, if you've been before, what did you think of it?

What do you think of the people, the city, the scenery, the stuff to do? Did you find the city welcoming? Conservative? Cosmopolitan or a bit of a cowtown?

Not only should all those people stuck at the airport demand refunds, but they should be reimbursed for the inconvenience of having to sleep on the floor of that dirty airport. It is bad enough that the airlines price gouge for the Holiday season, which should be federally regulated but it is not, only to inconvenience you by not allowing people to carry saline solution for your eyes on carry ons, toothepaste, mouthwash, coffee, etc.
Then they open stores which charge $4.75 for a soda ,or 8.75 or more for a small sandwich which taste like it is dipped in mop bucket water. Why don't they have a hotel right next to the airport where inconvenienced passengers could lodge. There is not sufficent medical staff there for emergencies such as this blizzard in Denver.
Of course there will be people saying that it is not their fault that it snowed, but they should have been more prepared for this emergency. They knew the storm was coming ,and DIA did nothing to prepare for it.
