winter coat, hat and gloves and scarf. some kind of boots for snow. sweats and a lighter jacket because we get lots of sun even in the winter 40 and sunny is pretty warm here.Unless you are going to live in the mountains , than pack for the north pole.
Google the town or city where you will be living for their web site to get a better idea of the weather.a few miles one way or the other can make a big difference

Hiking boots, comfortable jeans, oversized cotten sweaters, a coat stuffed with down, thinselate gloves with sweade on the palm so you can grip the steering wheel, a winter hat, maybe a scarf for style. A car with manuel transmission, a snow scaper, heat (to prevent gasline freeze), good tires. Don't go walking around in the wilderness out there unless your with someone and know where your going.

Layer, layer, layer.
The weather changes often in Denver anywhere from 70 degrees to 10 degrees, in a single day!
Get fleece, shells, long johns, and gore-TeX.
Dress in layers so you can adjust for different conditions (rain, snow, wind, sunshine.)
