It is sad that anyone should die that way. It is even sadder that it only got media attention because he was a football player. This kind of stuff happens everyday in all the big cities. You hardly ever hear about it when it is just an average person.
It is even more of a shame that this is accepted as the norm in the united states. we make raps about it and write stories about. Yet we don't really seem to do much about it until a famous person gets shot at.
It is a shame for all the parents that die at the hands of a drive by shooting. It is a shame for all the children that die by the hands of a drive by shooting. It is a shame for all the innocent that die on account of a drive by.

Very shocking to wake up New Years Day and hear the tragic news, that he was killed in a drive by shooting. The Bronco's season ended on a bad note, but his death really puts things into perspective.

And I agree it is sad for anyone to die like that, not just an NFL player, which is obviously giving it national attention.

Well, I live in Denver; and I can tell you that the team isn't going to be the same without him. Watching the local news, you could tell that everyone was really sad, I mean, they all knew him, almost all of them had interviewed him at one time or another, you could tell they thought of him as a friend. He wasn't the greatest player that ever lived, and he was the first to admit it, but he was good and he had a great attitude. You could tell from his interviews that he was a really cool person and I'm sure the team morale and the morale of every Bronco fan will suffer greatly from his loss. R.I.P. man. We love you.

I was shocked. It is a very sad situation. And today the Broncos were scheduled to return to Mile High to clean out their lockers. I can't imagine what that locker room will be like.

He was a great player and had so much potential. I was really looking forward to seeing him develop into something amazing.

Peace be with his family and children and the entire Broncos team. As others mentioned, I hope his killer is found and brought to justice.

It is a huge tragedy for a great player to die the way he did. It’s a huge tragedy for anyone to die the way he did. He has two little kids in Texas who will grow up without a father.

The thing that really gets to me is that he was my husbands age (24). He had so much more life in front of him.

How can anyone kill another person?

It's tragic. He was only twenty four years old. He was just beginning his life.
R.I.P., Darrent Williams. You will be missed.

I think it's sad when anybody has to die like that. Being in the NFL doesn't make it any more of a tragedy.

It was senseless and no doubt a premeditated hit. There is no way some dummy will pull up to a hummer limo and spray it with bullets for nothing.

I hope his murderers will be brought to justice.
