It is awesome! The city is one of the best in the country and it is growing. Traffic is a problem, so live downtown. The city has all three sporting arenas within walking distance. There is an expanding transportation hub centered at Union Station where you will be able to take the light or heavy rail throughout Denver, to DIA, and out to Boulder. Plus its a bike friendly city, maybe not to the degree of Portland but with some great trails like the Cherry Creek trail.

So... good transportation is on the way. What else... How about some of the best weather ever with sunshine, all four seasons, and beautiful snow storms when it hits. The mountains are close and we have a wonderful backyard with ski resorts like Vail, Aspen, Breckenridge and more. You can be in the heart of the city and in just over an hour be skiing.

Great restaurants, shops, and an expanding urban downtown that caters to fun. It's great, the people are nice, at least the ones I have met have been awesome. Maybe it is the sunshine that keeps them smiling, or the activities. Or perhaps its because they live downtown and don't deal with the traffic to the burbs.

Meh- Denver is very polarized. You see rich cigar smoking republicans, and ghettos on the north side of the city where you think you'll get shot. Traffic is not too terrible - if it's a problem you can take the trains which run along the freeways. Our mountains are beautiful. Winters are freezing. Lodo has some cool clubs if you are young.

Full of transplants all driving differently so you end up with a traffic debacle almost 24x7. People are generally not as friendly as the other parts of the state for a couple of reasons; one, we're tired of the influx of new people and two, because most people are from somewhere else that' isn't as friendly. The smog is terrible, the draught has de-beautified the metro area, it's EXPENSIVE to live here - you can't hardly find a decent two bedroom apartment for less than $1000/mo and according to an article from 12/7/06, the average price of a home is more than $405k...Thank you Californians...

suburbs are great, Denver is pretty cool too, only smoggy in the winter, , blizzards are rare. winters are really quite mild, normally only about 60 " of snow a year.4-6 " at a time, it melts away in a few days because of the sunshine and dry air,Over 300 days a year of sunshine. Wouldn't want to live any where else.I'm a Jersey transplant 15 years ago.

Great for families! It's chilly and snowy in the Winter. There's not a lot to do if you're an urban fun-seeker, to be sure. We're big on church and family around here here and those considerations drive what we do for fun.

We love the Broncos. It's also a very active and atheltic population. There's always something to do if you're into outdoorsy stuff. Good shopping, too. it's a conservative place.

Well, it smoggy and crowded with the usual dead, decaying, and nasty areas, just like any other city.

Although the last couple decades have been incredibly mild, winters can be really nasty. If you move there, have a heat source not dependent on electricity and at least a week's worth of food that doesn't require cooking on an electricity dependent stove.
