I have American Express traveller's cheques and I got sorely ripped off recently (by American Express themselves!!) in Prague with the exchange rate. I'm coming over to the UK for Christmas; anyone had a better experience than me? Please let me know where! Merry Christmas!

Hello there
We are going to be in London for a holiday soon. I have some friends in Yorkshire. How far is Yorkshire from London? What is the best, fastest and most easiest transportation to Yorkshire? How many days should we set aside for that assuming we are mainly going to see our good friends (for a weekend) and not much sightseeing. Thank you very much for your time!

I’m having to spend a day in Nottingham before travelling back home.
I’ve only heard bad things about Nottingham but there must be some interesting/nice things I can do in the city and nearby. I have a car.
What do you recommend?

Any recommendations for a weekend away. Somewhere scenic, a local pub, good B&B or hotel - not too far from Midlands/Staffordshire - happy to travel hour or two.

There is one youth hostel that I found on the internet, but I am not young enough to stay in a youth hostel. I am just looking for a plain cheap clean room with a bed and toilet (breakfast need not be included, too much money). I need a room for two nights next month well after the holidays are over. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We want the item to be some thing "MADE IN ENGLAND" not something with an english name made in China.

It's so strange because there is no one on here, normally the pages are updated so quick that your question is history within seconds, doesn't it feel like a ghost town being logged on at what's an unsociable hour back home?

I am starting to research a trip to the Highlands and am looking for info / advice for my trip. Big on my list is high scenic views and to maybe step back in time. Castles, pubs, and scenery are a must. Where to go and where to stay? Anyone who either lives there or has traveled there I would love to hear from.
