In 1960(ish) I lived in Uppcott House on Uppcot Hill, (I don't know the correct spelling) in Sidford, Sidmouth.
I have been there looking for the address, but cannot find it.
I have searched the net for a map of '60's Sidford, to no avail.
During that period there were new buildings being built near one end.
Maybe it was renamed due to enlargement, or perhaps the whole street was pulled down.
I really need to know. Please, can anyone tell me where it is/went?

I am taking a trip to Edinburgh and London in March. I am a pretty easy going person, and I'd like to remain under the radar. Meaning, I don't want y'all looking at me as another stupid American tourist. So tell me this, what gets on your nerves? What should I avoid doing? There's obvious stuff (don't insult the culture/people etc.) but there may be some other things that I'm not aware of.

I'm not loud, obnoxious, fat, sloppy, uneducated etc. so I have those bases covered. :o) Thanks in advance for any advice!

THe big question!
It's about humour...
Scottish ( besides wiskhy, tartan and haggis and Bob Burns and Rob Roy and Glasgow and so on)
English (there is something else to find there than Blair, London and the Lake district....)
Belgian (hey, my country! Chocolate? Beer? Chips and mossels?Universities?)
Portuguese (Porto, Alentejas, and Xico?)
Until a short while my heart was sold to the Scottish blend, now however, well...
Do I need sun, maybe?

The news keeps referring Ipswich, England as a small town
and that prostitute were taken from the redlight district.
In most small towns in the usa there's no way there would a
known red light district unless prostitution was legal.Maybe
Nevada. Is prostitution legal anywhere in England?
