Do most people in London use first class mail to post letters. When visiting recently, I forgot to mention which class as we do not have such choice where I live but I discovered afterwards that I was given only first class stamps and it cost me quite a bit more as I had several letters.

I was thinking it might be because of the lack of oxygen, but surely there are rules the LU have to follow with regards to ventilation.

Hi all, I'd like to book a long weekend away to the Lake's for me and my girlfriend. Ideally I'd like to book a log cabin or a chalet somewhere that is as secluded as possible. I'd be really greatful for any advice or website addresses to assist me in choosing. Thanks

If we go to Liverpool (England) there are only 2 options to get home i.e.

Drive through the tunnel,
Travel by train.

It would be nice to be able to stroll over at leisure and not worry about getting taxi's on New Year's Eve for instance.

I'm planning for a canal boat holiday in British Waterways in summer 2007 for 2 people. I'll start from London and my preference is to go North (no return) or do a loop (i.e. oxford canal then grand union and back to London). I'd like to know:
1- What routes would you recommend?
2- How much does it cost to hire a boat for 2 people for 1 week?
3- Where I can hire a cheap boat?
4- Any other recommendation.

Regards

I'm currently studying in Canada but my citizenship is Vietnamese. I'm from a third world country so I figure I would need to obtain a Visa to get into England and Germany. The problem is I can't go back to Vietnam to apply for the visa. It's to expensive to fly home for just that, and it's worse that I don't have time either. Is there any other way to apply for my travel EU visa from Canada? It is just a trip with my art class and the duration is only 2 weeks and 4 days.
