It never fails - regardless of the type of vacay I take, I always, always get sick. This is particularly true with respect to car trips and for some reason when I spend time at my grandmother-in-law's condo in Florida. Well, my husband wants us to go to spend time at my GIL's condo in FL - and to drive there (from MI). I usually get stomach sick (vomiting, etc), a fever and headaches. Any tips on preventing car sickness + overall vacation wellness, besides taking Airborne/Emergen-C and washing hands (which I do lots of)?

My brother has never been out of the country and has barely been out of the state. He and his wife never had a honeymoon and they've been married for almost 2 years now. She, however, has been to Italy and Mexico amongst other places. What is an easy way to give them the gift of travel or a belated honeymoon of some sort? A cruise gift card? Do travel websites like Expedia offer gift cards? It has to be open ended so that they can plan it themselves since I don't know their schedule. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi
Last year, I requested 30 days off from work to go back to India to my family and my request was granted. This time i want to go back for 45 days. I have been working for 2.5 years at this job. I just got promoted to Front Desk Supervisor as well.
You think i should put in a small note saying please, with my vacation request form.

I'm flying tomorrow in Florida, and I'm wondering if I should wear sandals. I'm thinking it will make it easier in security and stuff like that. Are there any problems I should be aware of?

I am looking for a package type deal, like flight/hotel/car. Has anyone ever used any of the common sites on the internet? Were they worth it? What did you find helps the most? I will be traveling to Las Vesgas and I've never been there so I want it to be a memorable trip. Thanks!

I have just been reading this fascinating book about all the famous explorers like Columbus, Magalhaes, James Cook. It was really astonishing to read all the hardship people on those ships had to go through at that time. It took Magalhaes 3 months to get from Miss Horn to Mariana Islands without seeng a land. James Cook spend 8 months traveling from England to Tahiti and that was in the mid 18th century. Doesn anyone here have any nautical skills or experience and can give me examples of how long modern days ship journeys take? E.g. cross Atlantic trips or trips from Europe to Asia on a ship. Any comparisons with the journeys I mentioned?

If I wanted to send a package, about the size of a shoebox, 10 pounds or less from a US address to an international residential address in the UK, sweden, japan etc. How much would it be?

All the online quotes say it will cost like, $150. I don't care if the shipping is slow... Does anyone have experience with this?

I am currently tracking a package I am waiting on, I got the standard "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper to expect your package for mailing." but that was 3 days ago, yes 3 days. And there has been no update whatsoever. So the statement that they have on there "information is updated every evening" must be false or something. I understand that there are thousands of people tracking things at any given time but why even have a tracking system if its so unreliable? I just dont understand. I just want to know WHERE my package is.

On the greyhound website it says (in nice bold print) that seating is on a first come, first serve basis and that purchasing a ticket in advance "does not guarantee a seat". Does this mean that even though I've bought a ticket I may not be able to take the trip if the bus is full? Might I have to stand for the whole 23 hour trip?

I'm planning to go on a road trip with some friends from Canada to the States next week and I'm hearing mixed things. Some are saying you do, some are saying you don't need a valid passport to cross the border. Does anyone know for sure.

If so, please provide a valid website to backup your answer.

Thanks!

I wish to travel abroad (England) before I enter film school. From my knowledge, Film school is expensive and very demanding, so I dont think I will have much time in the coming years to travel abroad again. My parents refuse to give me my passport on the grounds that I am still not mature enough to travel abroad by myself, and that I have obligations at home I need to take care of. I dont see anything solid in this, since they were originally pushing me to get into Film school in January. Now that my start date has been pushed back to July, I moved my trip to January, and because of that they are making a lot of excuses as to why I have no right to go abroad.

Do I have any legal right to get my passport from them as a 19 year old?
