My brother has never been out of the country and has barely been out of the state. He and his wife never had a honeymoon and they've been married for almost 2 years now. She, however, has been to Italy and Mexico amongst other places. What is an easy way to give them the gift of travel or a belated honeymoon of some sort? A cruise gift card? Do travel websites like Expedia offer gift cards? It has to be open ended so that they can plan it themselves since I don't know their schedule. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

That's a very nice idea!

How about a gift certificate? You should be able to get one from a local travel agent. Plus, the travel agent will help them with the trip planning. If you give them a credit on a website, they have to do all of the work themselves. That's fine for some people, but not everyone is good at it. I used to work for a travel website and you'd be amazed at the messes that some people made trying to book foreign trips. (I wish that I had a dollar for everyone who showed up at the airport without a passport and was mystified that they couldn't take their trip........)

Maybe you could get a gift card from a local travel agent. Or, how about giving them an American Express gift check and letting them choose how they want to book their trip. You can set a dollar amount this way. What a nice person you are!

I would think that the best way would be to give them a dollar amount, and let them plan their trip themselves. You may think that a week in Hawaii would be wonderful, but they really want to go to Duluth. This kinda takes the surprise out of it, but it gets them the trip they really want at the time that works best for them, with a budget that doesn't surprise you.
